Departures truly deserves the Best Foreign Film Award!!!

Full-house response even though it was a weekday. Seating at the second row from the front,
we strained our necks to watch, but the movie was truly captivating nevertheless.

Death is not the end, it is just a gate to another world.

I've this terrible hunch that everybody is hiding at home mugging/ attending tuition for the entire holiday while I'm hitting the streets for movies and shopping since the holidays started. This is terriblezxzxzxz.I better turn to my books soon with common tests nearing.

P.S. Confessions of a Shopaholic is going to be released next week. Finally. GV's having a party with Miss Selfridge for the premieres!!!!

Slumdog Millionaire

is the best film I've caught so far.

Go catch it!!!
I can say it's worth every single cent of my weekend ticket + risk of sneaking in (if any).
You don't do justice to such a good movie by just downloading it.
After all, it won 8 oscars!!! Can it not be good?
Anyway, I think the female lead is super gorgeous!

I had loads of fun these few days even though we had to return to school for holiday lessons.
Monday was talking nonsense+laughing till our stomachs hurt+siya and cynthia scaring the hearts out of me with ______+laughing at this auntie who went to the gents+meatballs+chickenwings day at Ikea.
Tuesday was full of waiting + finally getting something from all that shopping day.

Omg it's going to rain soon, I'm gonna hug my carebears and go to bed now!!! Nights.

P.S. Yaye, I'm going to catch a movie with my aunt tomorrow! I have finally gotten back the life that I was so deprived during school term. :) I'm a happy kid.

Panadol pills are really effective y'know. I was suffering from a throbbing migraine the entire of today and one pill killed it all.

Caught Cleo's dance. Shot hoops with Esme at the arcade and tolerated very bad service/attitude from the cashier. Dinner at Old HK Kitchen at Novena w/family. They serve good Beijing duck, stew oxtail, braised tofu I promise!!! Even the fish soup tasted okay for once- P.S. I h8 fish. Omg i miss HK more than ever now! Anyway, just go and try it.

Liverpool VS Manchester United

4-1

Missed the first 4 goals because we only caught the last 20 min. But I think watching soccer is fun!!!

Death

Are you afraid of death?
Where will we go when we die?
Into another world or just disappear from Earth forever?

To be honest, I'm very afraid of death because it means being away with people whom I love, things/places which I love/am familiar with forever. Death means going into another space all alone. Death is filled uncertainty which makes it so fearful. And I hate the idea of separation, the last time etc.

But unfortunately, death is inevitable, so what matters is how we look upon it. Do we adopt an attitude that death is imminent so that we will live everyday with no regrets? Or do we forget about its existence so that we can live our live happily and positively?

Life

For everything, there is a reason and purpose. So what's our purpose of living? Sometimes, we all feel so stressed up because we fail to see far or see our purpose.

We came to this Earth with nothing and when we depart, we will leave with nothing too. So is pursuing fame and material that important? Jet Li has been very inspiring in this aspect with him setting up his Jet Li One Foundation which was being featured in Reader's Digest a few months back. Sometimes, when you realise how small fame is, you will realise how big the world is. In pursuing fame, our vision is like being confined. When you put down all your material thoughts, you will find that actually everything can be so simple and everyday can be such a joyful day? But how do we achieve that? Do we need a life-and-death experience like Li?

If we only get to live once as who we are, why do we trap ourselves in living up to the expectations of others? For example if you are a comedian, the entire world thinks that you should be hilarious at all times and bring joy to others who are feeling sad. But unfortunately, you are not even given the right to be depressed. It's really tiring, very tiring I think. I'm quite lucky in this aspect because other than Mrs.Chia, nobody, not even my parents, has once express their disappointment with my performance etc. My parents, esp my dad gives me a lot of freedom in what I can/want to achieve because after all it's my life and I really appreciate that.

But sometimes, we set high expectations of ourselves that really exhaust us both mentally and physically too. And our expectations, are they related to our purpose in life?

I hope to seek answers. Soon.

HAPPY

SWEET 16

VALENCIAAA!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hello world!!!

This week has been rather relaxing despite having 3 common tests/Literature Test/Phy and Chem O'Levels SPA. Oh well, tests and mock exams are like everyday meals to us now. Kh and I went to get our Happy Meals after school today. Yaye, another Pokeball for me!!! Everybody's collecting pokeballs now thanks to me reciting them the team rocket cheer everyday. Hahaha even Azimah got one!!! Hahah this is so fun! :)

"Jessie!
James!
We're the Team Rocket!
Blasting off at the speed of light!
Surrender now or prepare to fight!
Meow that's right! "

I wanna say how much I love my turtle!!!! (L)(L)(L) And she's got a really hot boyfriend whom she stole from Cynthia. Sigh sigh sigh, scandalous.

My cousin is flying off to Taiwan soon. Sigh I wanna go for a holiday too. :( Well, I shall have one in LaLaLand. Goodnight!

"Winning is not everything, but the will to win is.
"

I don't get this. Why must they "hypnotize" us, manipulate our feelings and attempt to get us all emotional, only to kindly offer us tissue to dry our tears after that? Anyway, stupid turtle was like laughing the whole time so needless to say I was trying hard not to be affected by her and i didn't get the scene at all. Some people even managed to doze off... But yes, I do love all my family and friends and I respect all those who were touched. After all, sometimes I can cry over some stupid cliche drama serial scene on TV even when I'm just watching it for the first time. I really find myself quite amazing at times, haha.

Other than screaming our lungs out, watching the hockey semi-finals today was v. inspiring. Esme and Master Wugui were so coolz on court, so unlike their usual selves haha. Anyway no matter what the result is, Crescent Hockey has done us proud, very proud!

"You can sit beside when the world comes down"

I haven't updated in more than a week. I rather spent more time with the TV nowadays. Life has been hectic as usual, but rather good. The pace is slowing down these few days with motivational courses and all. I'm not exactly in the best of mood because I'm supposed to be at Jason Mraz's concert, not here rotting at home. Sigh oh well..

P.S./ Learning journey pictures are up on Facebook. They'll be up here soon.

Bugis has the worst theatre in town I swear!!! First, the ticketing woman tried to cheat us of our money. Then when we entered, the whole place was littered with leftover popcorns/nachos/tissue paper and the stench of urine is so overwhelming and nauseating (we only managed to get rid 50% of the smell after spraying half a can of Kh's deodrant?!). We were really so turned off. I swear I'm never stepping in there again.

The movie really got me into thinking that marriage is unnecessary. What's marriage without love? And with love, why is there the need to broadcast it to the entire world? Oh, enlightenment haha.

Gah, I wanna catch Slumdog Millionaire, would have caught it if it was available.

Many nights we've prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains
Long before we knew we could

There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
It's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will
You will when you believe

In this time of fear
When prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seemed like the summer birds
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here
My heart's so full, I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought I'd say

They don't always happen when you ask
And it's easy to give in to your fears
But when you're blinded by your pain
Can't see your way clear through the rain
A small, but still, resilient voice
Says help is very near

One of my all-time fav songs.
This for lao zhuang/lao mok/zhuangy!!! :)
I love you! :)
Hehehhee. *says Hi to monkey too*

My connection is finally stable now. I've a whole load of photos to post, but I'll leave that to Friday when everything dies down.

We had 写作班 again today. But it was fun because we had free-flow of Fruit Plus and we spent 3/4 of the time talking about H&M Hello Kitty socks + funny eng-chi translations + a whole lot of other hilarious and irrelevant stuff. (P.S. Elmo says H&M is coming to Sg soon! ) After school, aunt came to pick me up and we had Macs tgt. :)

Yaye I love school now! :)
